Bacchus of Lebanon dates back to 1977, with the original restaurant first opened on Jefferson place in Washington, DC. Ten years later, our Bethesda current location opened its doors with one of the areas most beautiful outdoor patio. Throughout almost four decades, we have been serving the best Lebanese food in the Washington, downtown Bethesda. The restaurant has been named 50 Favorites by the Washington Post over 20 times, 100 Best by the Washingtonian over 25 times, as well as featured in Money magazine, GQ and many others for our continued service and dedication. Till this day all dishes are cooked with the best quality ingredients sprinkled with love that sets us apart. Join us at Bacchus of Lebanon and we will make sure you will leave happy.

Our Restaurant is named for the magnificent glorious Temple of Bacchus in the historic ancient Lebanese City of Baalbeck, dating back to the Roman period.

From the wine selections, the aromatic flavorful dishes and to the ambience found here, we tried to mimic and carry through to bring you the grandeur of this ancient city and temple. This of course, on a much smaller scale, into our own Bacchus of Lebanon restaurant. Enjoy!

Are you Vegetarian?

Lebanese Turkish and other Middle Eastern flavors are not only appetizing to your palates, but also very healthy dishes to learn to make at home. There are many recipes for vegetarians such as the fattoush salads, hummus and baba ganouj. Try this at home, this grilled eggplant is pureed along with garlic, lemon juice and tahini to make a lighter version of the classic Middle Eastern dip. If you can’t find ground sumac for the garnish, chopped pistachios are traditional as well. Serve with pita wedges or use as a spread for sandwiches.
